We are the community that opens its arms.
We meet in parks, at festivals and at marathons to offer free hugs to anyone who wants one. No hidden agenda, no strings attached. Just joy, connection and people discovering each other.
A hug is more than a gesture. It is a universal language that says: “You are welcome”, “You are safe”, “You matter”. And sometimes, it is exactly what someone needed to smile again.
Îmbrățișări.ro was born from the belief that people need to feel close. Not for therapy, not for a political or religious cause, but for something far simpler and deeper: the joy of being together.
At our events, every hug is a gift given with consent. We ask first, respect every answer and give everyone space to be themselves. It is a place where young people find purpose, volunteers discover a team, and participants leave with a lighter heart.
We have already seen thousands of beautiful moments: people who came alone and left with smiles, children who learned it is okay to say “yes” or “no”, and friendships that began forever behind a colourful tent. That is what we are building together.
How we make the magic happen

We go where people are
Parks, festivals, marathons, community events. We do not wait for people to come to us — we go to them, with open arms and joyful hearts.

We ask with warmth and respect
Every hug begins with one simple question: “Would you like a hug?” A “no” is met with a smile, just like a “yes”. That is how we build trust.

We turn every event into a celebration
Music, colours, enthusiastic volunteers and lots of good vibes. Our events are spaces where you can relax, have fun and feel you belong.

Every volunteer learns about empathy, boundaries and authentic connection. And the community grows — city by city, hug by hug.
What you will not find here
We are not a clinic or therapy. We do not diagnose or replace a specialist. We are simply people offering human warmth, as much as we can.
We are not a religious or political organisation. We ask nobody to believe anything particular. We come as we are and welcome you exactly as you are.
